Purpose:
Every other fall, the University of Minnesota conducts an Employee Engagement Survey to gather input from faculty and staff about their perspectives on workplace issues. The survey is confidential, and is one important way employees can influence the future of their workplace and the University of Minnesota.
About Employee Engagement at the University of Minnesota:
Employee engagement is the extent to which individuals devote time, energy, and effort at work. The highest levels of engagement result from facing meaningful challenges while also having the support, resources, and confidence needed to address those challenges.
Enhancing employee engagement helps achieve and sustain a higher level of productivity, and increases retention of talented faculty and staff by fostering better working relationships, collaboration, and resilience, which are critical to achieving our mission.
Key Metrics:
At the University of Minnesota, we think of employee engagement as a level of employee energy and motivation supported or hindered by the work environment, and we measure this through two key metrics:
- Commitment and Dedication
- Effective Environment
