Voting is an opportunity to make your voice heard. As the election approaches, the Office of Human Resources wants to ensure that everyone is aware of their right to participate during their scheduled work hours.
Time Off to Vote
Paid time off to vote is provided through University policy, which allows time off to go to your polling place, vote, and return to work. This time off extends to early in-person voting or voting on Tuesday, November 3. Please request this time away in advance and coordinate your schedule with your supervisor and others to minimize potential impacts.
Time Off to Serve as an Election Judge
Election judges can use this same leave time. State law requires employees serving in these roles to request time away in writing and include their certification from the election appointing authority at least 20 days before election day (October 14, 2026).
