The 2023 Employee Engagement Survey marks 10 years of employees sharing their observations and insights through the survey process. This feedback reveals trends, strengths, and opportunities critical to the future of the University of Minnesota. Thank you to everyone who has participated in the past. 

The 2023 Employee Engagement Survey will be open October 16 - November 3. On Monday, October 16, benefits-eligible faculty and staff will receive an email from [email protected] with a unique link to the survey. Employees should respond to the survey during working hours and there are things you can do to encourage the faculty and staff you supervise to do so.

Why Support the Survey


  • Data from the survey will be important in understanding the faculty and staff perspective on the work environment as well as where to make meaningful changes and where to continue current practices.  
  • The more faculty and staff who participate in the survey, the more robust the data will be.
  • Supervisors with five or more faculty or staff members who complete the survey will receive a report in early 2024.
Faculty who were favorable on the Survey were more likely to be engaged at work, feel the survey is constructive, feel work barriers were reduced, more likely to recommend the University, and less likely to leave the organization.

2021 Employee Engagement Survey Results


The results of the 2021 Employee Engagement Survey show a strong relationship between survey follow up and engagement, retention, and overall commitment to the University.
