Regents Tuition Benefit Program for Employees
The Regents Tuition Benefit Program is available to benefits-eligible faculty, P&A, civil service, and labor represented employees who hold 75 to 100 percent time appointments for the entire semester in which the course is taken. The Regents Tuition Benefit Program provides free or reduced tuition. Many use this benefit for professional development or to continue their education. The Regents Tuition Benefit Program can be used for undergraduate classes, graduate school, or post baccalaureate professional course credits, including thesis credits.
The portion of tuition covered by the program depends on your current education level:
- 100% of tuition cost is covered if pursuing your first undergraduate degree
- 75% of tuition cost is covered for all other eligible classes
The Regents Tuition Benefit Program policy page has information on eligibility, covered costs, and how to apply. You must complete the Request for Regents Tuition Benefit Program form (found on the policy page) each term.
Resident Tuition
If you and your family members are not current residents of Minnesota, you may qualify for resident tuition rates at the University of Minnesota.
Check your appointment percentage and employee job classification on the Verification of Appointment for Resident Tuition form to see if you qualify. Eligible family members include your legal spouse, dependent children, or a legal ward living in the household.
