Development 360 Degree Assessment

Work with a Talent Strategy (TS) consultant to determine the list of participants to provide feedback in the form of quantitative (ratings on leadership behaviors) and qualitative (open-ended feedback on strengths and areas of opportunities for growth). The feedback is confidential and the leader can choose to share their results with others. In addition you will also be asked to complete a self-assessment. From the feedback, you and your TS consultant will work together to create a meaningful and manageable development plan.

What to Expect Throughout the Assessment Experience

  1. The Talent Strategy (TS) consultant meets with the leader to discuss the process in detail including:
    1. Current context for the leader and their desired outcome from this process
    2. Planned timeline
    3. Rater selection
    4. Email templates
  2. Ensuring supervisory involvement - your supervisor’s feedback is considered a critical component for the 360 process we’ve designed. Your TS Consultant can help support you with assessing and securing a essential level of engagement from this key party.
  3. The Ratee/Individual completing the 360 creates the rater roster.
    1. Upon the creation of a rater roster, the use of the “Other Leader” category should be done in consultation with the Talent Strategy Consultant based on the context of the role. As with the role of the manager, the numeric/quantitative feedback is seen directly on the final report and is not anonymous. The Talent Strategy consultant can help support communications best practices.
  4. The leader sends a customized email built with support from Talent Strategy templates to the raters alerting them to the forthcoming assessment and notifies the TS Consultant of any email address errors
  5. The TS Consultant forwards the rater roster to the assessment administrator
  6. The assessment is launched and remains open for approximately three weeks for everyone to complete the online 360, which typically takes around 20-30 minutes.
  7. Midway through the assessment, the TS Consultant contacts the leader if additional email reminders are needed to increase responses
  8. The assessment closes, results are calculated, the report is generated and quality checked
  9. The TS Consultant meets with the leader to review the assessment feedback and discuss the development plan.
